Before you start

Below is the list of documents required. If you do not have all the documents on hand, you can initiate the registration process first. Our support team will request the rest of the documents from you:

  1. A close-up photo of the valid NRIC (for Singapore citizens or PRs only) or passport of the person in charge of operating  the account
  2. The person in charge of the main operating account holding his/her valid NRIC or passport and a piece of paper with the current date and “Independent Reserve SG” written on it.
  3. Valid NRIC (for Singapore citizens or PRs only) or passport copies and current Proof of Address of each account operator
  4. Current ACRA Business Profile, that is less than 3 months old, spelling out the following information (or equivalent company registry extract, if the entity is not registered in Singapore)
    • Full registered company name.
    • Full address of the company’s registered office.
    • Unique Entity Number
    • Date of Incorporation
    • Number of issued/allotted shares
    • Information on Directors and shareholders displaying their full name, identification number, and nationality, and for shareholders, number of shares held
  5. Valid copies of NRIC (for Singapore citizens or PRs only) or passport and current Proof of Address documentation of all Directors and Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBO) directly/indirectly holding more than 25% interest directly or indirectly in the Company. Documentation must be translated into English if the original document is in a foreign language. 
  6. Contact details (phone numbers and email addresses) of all Directors and UBOs directly/indirectly holding more than 25% interest in the Company.
  7. Full address of the Company’s principal place of business (if the address differs from the registered office address).
  8. Signed and dated shareholding chart showing link up to the UBO(s) if there are intermediary layers in between.
  9. Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company.
  10. Signed director resolution and/or authorisation documents (for example, a list of authorised signatories showing the account operator’s authority to transact on behalf of the company).
    • The directors’ resolution should include the name and identification number of any individual authorised to operate the account. It should be signed by the number of directors who constitute a quorum under your bylaws. Our team will provide you with the template.
  11. Declaration of Source of Funds and/or Wealth documentation that provides a full explanation of your company’s source of funds. Our team will provide you with the template. It is important to ensure that this information is sufficiently elaborated in order for us to understand the amount of funds and sector/business/activity that this was derived from in detail.

Creating a corporate account to trade crypto on Independent Reserve

Step 1: Registering an account

1. Please note that you must be an authorised person acting as a legal representative of the company in order to set up a corporate account on behalf of the company.

2. Go to the Create Account page. Enter your company’s username in English, and set a strong password. Select “Company” if you are creating a corporate account. If you were referred by someone, enter their referral code.

3. Check the tickbox to agree to our Terms and Conditions, as well as Privacy Policy once you have gone through them.

4. Verify your email address by copying and pasting the confirmation code sent to the email you used to register the corporate account. 

Step 2: Identity verification

1. Click Continue and follow the instructions on the screen.

2. You will need to provide the following details as shown on your photo ID: 

  • Full name (as seen on your valid ID)
  • Country of residence
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Mobile phone number (requires SMS verification)
  • Photo ID & proof of address (required for withdrawals) 

NOTE: Identity verification is a legal requirement for registered cryptocurrency exchanges. We use it to:
> Check your identity isn’t stolen, or being used to create an account in your name for criminal purposes.
> Protect your funds from unauthorised access and warn you of any attempts.

3. It is recommended that you set up two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account, even though it is not compulsory.  Follow the onscreen instructions to set up 2FA, or you may choose to enable 2FA at a later time.

4. Select the Account purpose and your company’s source of income from the respective drop-down menus. Please note that you must provide a declaration of your company’s source of funds at a later stage of the onboarding process, which elaborates on this in further detail. 

5. Upload a clear photograph of you holding your valid ID and a document. Both you and the document must be clearly visible.

  • Your Government ID (Singapore NRIC or Passport)
  • A piece of paper with the words “Independent Reserve” and the date of the day.  For example: Independent Reserve 01/01/2024

6. Upload separate close-up photos of the front and back of your Government-issued ID. Please ensure that all details are legible on the photo.

7. Upload a supporting document which shows your current address. Ensure that the document is less than 6 months old. Examples of proof of address:

  • Bank statement
  • Utility bills
  • Government-issued document 

Step 3: Company verification

Follow the instructions on the screen:

1. Select your country of incorporation from the dropdown menu

2. Enter your company details in English, Unique Entity Number (UEN), registered address and corporate website

3. Upload the company’s latest ACRA BizFile that is less than 3 months old and has the following details:

  • Name of company
  • Registered office address
  • Unique Entity Number (UEN)
  • Date of Incorporation
  • Number of issued/allotted shares
  • Information on directors and shareholders, including full name, identification number, and nationality

4. Enter the details of each director and beneficial owner details:

  • Full Name
  • Date of birth
  • Country of residence
  • Valid government-issued ID (NRIC or passport). 

Note: A beneficial owner is an individual who ultimately owns or controls more than 25% of the company’s shares or voting rights or who otherwise exercises control over the company or its management.

5. If there’s more than one director or beneficial owner, enter their details and provide a copy of their Government-issued photo ID.

6. Check the tickbox I have added all directors and beneficial owners when you are done. Click Next to complete the company verification process. 

Step 4: Review and confirm

1. Carefully review the Company summary and confirm all the details are correct. Once you are satisfied, click Next. Or you may click Back to edit the information.
