What is Tether Gold (XAUT)?

Tether Gold (XAUT) is a digital token said by the issuer to be backed 1:1 by physical gold. Each XAUT represents one troy ounce of London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) gold held in custody in Switzerland, with specific bars allocated and viewable via the issuer’s bar-lookup tool. XAUT is an ERC-20 token that can be transferred to supported on-chain addresses or traded for SGD or USD on Independent Reserve. The issuer publishes daily data on the number of XAUT tokens in circulation and provides quarterly independent assurance reports on the underlying gold reserves, with reasonable assurance provided by BDO Italia.

No commingling of customer funds: we keep client assets completely separate from our own.

1:1 reserves

We maintain a full 1:1 reserve of all client fiat and digital assets.

We hold the vast majority of digital assets in secure offline cold storage protected in underground vaults with maximum security.
