Who can use the OTC desk?

Our OTC service is open to both individuals and corporates looking to buy, sell or trade a large amount of crypto. Our minimum order size is $50,000. However, we do offer some flexibility for smaller market-cap assets.

How can I deposit funds onto the exchange?

You can deposit NZD and USD via SWIFT. If you have an Australian bank account, you can instantly deposit AUD using PayID and Osko.

How long does it take to withdraw my funds?

We process the withdrawal of AUD in real-time. SWIFT transfers can take 2 or more business days depending on your financial institution.

For OTC trades, the quotes provided are all-inclusive. There are no hidden fees. However, there may be deposit and withdrawal fees depending on the volume and currency you are depositing or withdrawing.

What is the difference between OTC and exchange trading?

Over-the-counter (OTC) trades are facilitated by our professional trading experts who connect buyers and sellers looking to buy or sell large amounts of crypto. Whereas, exchange trading is where a market order is done through a public order book, where anyone can make smaller trades with instant settlement.

For most crypto traders, trading on a transparent, reliable exchange like Independent Reserve will satisfy all trading needs. However, for large volume block trades ($50,000 and above), executing all at once on an exchange is likely to have a negative impact on the price. This is what’s known as price slippage. OTC trading eliminates this risk.
