What is Agora Dollar (AUSD)?
Agora USD (AUSD) is a 1:1 USD-pegged stablecoin designed for institutional-grade decentralised finance. Launched by Agora Finance in 2024, AUSD is a native stablecoin on the Sui blockchain and serves as a trusted “cash layer” across Sui-based DeFi and other supported networks like Ethereum, Avalanche, and Injective.
What sets AUSD apart is its robust institutional backing. Its reserves (comprised of cash, U.S. Treasury bills, and repurchase agreements) are custodied by State Street, one of the world’s largest custodian banks, which manages over US$4 trillion in assets.
AUSD is supported by independent third-party audits and managed by global investment firm VanEck, combining transparency, credibility, and enterprise-grade safeguards to support institutional adoption.
