What is PAX Gold (PAXG)?
Pax Gold (PAXG) is a gold-backed cryptocurrency issued by Paxos. Each token represents one fine troy ounce of a London Good Delivery gold bar, held in professional vaults in London. Because it's tied to physical gold, PAXG moves with the real-time gold price.
Paxos launched PAXG in September 2019. It runs on Ethereum, so it can be traded, transferred and held like any other digital asset, but without the cost of storing or shipping bullion. People use PAXG to hold gold with the flexibility of crypto, buy fractional amounts, and redeem tokens for physical gold. The gold backing is audited regularly.
