What is SKY (SKY)?
In August 2024, MakerDAO completed a major phase of its Endgame Plan by rebranding to Sky Protocol.
As part of this upgrade, MKR (MakerDAO’s governance token) was replaced by SKY at a conversion ratio of 1:24,000. SKY now serves as the exclusive governance token for Sky Protocol. SKY remains an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, ensuring compatibility with major wallets, DeFi protocols, and exchanges.
SKY holders can vote on key protocol parameters such as collateral types, risk settings, and system upgrades, while also earning incentives through the Sky Token Rewards program.
This milestone update also introduced USDS, a new USD-pegged stablecoin that succeeds DAI.
