It is issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum networks, utilising the strengths of each to cater to a broad range of users. Ripple, a regulated financial institution, ensures that RLUSD meets all relevant regulatory requirements, leveraging its global portfolio of licenses to maintain compliance.
Each RLUSD token is fully backed by a reserve consisting of USD fiat and cash equivalents, such as government money market funds and short-term US Treasury Bills, held at US-based financial institutions. This ensures the stablecoin’s value is always aligned with the US dollar.
